Welcome!
The purpose of this Web site is to provide professional
academic related background information to outside organizations and
institutions interested in granting funds and/or resources to the
Plainview-Old Bethpage
Central School District.
As you will experience, my signature
mantra when presenting, strategically planning for, and implementing
the efficacy of "technology" has been driven from the very root of
the term’s Greek lineage being “techne”
which means “art” and “logos” which means “discourse.”
As an educator for the past
24 years, I've had the privilege to practice the "art of communication" to exploit technology’s intrinsic multi-sensory
attributes to engender “communication” with diverse populations of children,
teachers, administrators, and parent/community members - helping to motivate, inspire,
empower, and support student achievement. |

Throughout my years practicing in the field of
education, I have personally experienced the efficacy of technology as:
-
a student inspired to
creatively develop an idea, process information, think critically,
construct/deconstruct knowledge, innovate, and collaborate through
more meaningful mediums and pathways to learning and communication;
-
a teacher challenged to
creatively innovate, differentiate, and tailor instruction to
connect with the diverse learning modalities, needs, cognitive, and
physical abilities of children;
-
an administrator faced with
the responsibility of empowering all educational stakeholders to
implement effective instructional methodologies, tools, and
resources to support student achievement and transformative 21st
century teaching and learning skills;
-
a researcher inspired by the
potentiality my research studies may have in
addressing
problems/issues in the field, adding knowledge to existing
literature, suggesting improvement for practice, offering new ideas
to practicing educators, and providing information to inform debates
regarding educational policy.
"From classroom to boardroom, in collaboration
with my dedicated staff, district and state-wide technology teams,
my passion for cultivating the critical “triangle of success” between
teacher/staff, student, and parent/community, keeps me focused on my
bottom line: how technology
affects the life, education, health and safety of children.”
